Tameka 'Tiny" Cottle displays her 8ight band

Tameka “Tiny” Cottle (born July 14, 1975 in College Park, Georgia) is an singer-songwriter who was a member of the multi-platinum R&B female group, Xscape from 1992-2005.

She acquired the nickname “Tiny” due to her small stature of 4’11″.

In 1999, Cottle and fellow former Xscape band member Kandi Burruss were honored with a Grammy Award for Best R&B Song for penning TLC‘s hit single “No Scrubs“.^[2] Cottle’s other accomplishments include an American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers award in the R&B and Pop Music categories for “No Scrubs”, as well as the ASCAP Rap Award for her work on the Sporty Thievz track “No Pigeons.” Cottle has also worked with T.I., 8Ball & MJG, Lil’ Kim and Bow Wow.

Raphael Saadiq is an 8ight band fan

Raphael Saadiq (Charles Ray Wiggins) born on May 14, 1966 in Oakland, California is singer, songwriter, musician, guitarist, and record producer.

Saadiq has been a standard bearer for “old school” R&B since his early days as a member of the multiplatinum group Tony! Toni! Toné! He also produced songs of such artists as TLC, Joss Stone, D’Angelo, Mary J. Blige, and John Legend. He and D’Angelo were occasional members of The Ummah, a music production collective, composed of members Q-Tip and Ali Shaheed Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest, and the late J Dilla of the Detroit-based group Slum Village.

Saadiq’s critically acclaimed album, The Way I See It, released on September 16, 2008, featuring artists Stevie Wonder, Joss Stone, and Jay-Z, received three Grammy Award Nominations and was voted Best Album on iTunes of 2008. His fourth studio album, Stone Rollin’, was released on March 25, 2011.

For the album, Saadiq worked with steel guitarist Robert Randolph; former Earth, Wind & Fire keyboardist Larry Dunn; Swedish/Japanese indie rock songstress Yukimi Nagano (of Little Dragon fame); Funk legend Larry Graham (on the bonus cut Perfect Storm) plus soul newcomer Taura ‘Aura Jackson’ Stinson.

Music critic Robert Christgau has called Saadiq the “preeminent R&B artist of the ’90s”.

Mario “Chip” Cain Van Peebles (born January 15, 1957 in Mexico City, Mexico) is a director and actor in numerous Hollywood films.

Over the past 30 years, Van Peebles starred in and directed many television shows & films, including Panther, Ali, New Jack City, and an episode of Lost. He has directed: Black, White & Blues (2010); Redemption Road (2010); Boss (2011) Season 1 episodes 3, 6, 8; All Things Fall Apart (2011).

Van Peebles his own movie production company named “MVP Filmz”.

Testing of 8ight performance bands at Troy University

Troy University has completed a comprehensive study of our holographic performance bands. A test group of 60 were a part of a study on the effect of our 8ight bands on heart rate, blood pressure (systolic and diastolic) as well as strength and stamina.

 The two athletes in the picture to the left were waiting to have their blood pressure checked.

 Another group of 30 tested the effects of our performance band on their balance.

Acupuncture point to relieve pain

Hands down, the most accepted benefit of acupuncture is pain relief.

Controlled clinical studies find it considerably more effective than placebo, or dummy, treatment in relieving pain. Many studies have divided patients into two groups: those who have had actual treatment (needles inserted at appropriate acupoints) and those who have had “sham” acupuncture (needles inserted at the wrong places). According to Dr. Pomeranz, who has reviewed more than a dozen such studies, 55 to 85 percent of patients who got the real thing reported relief from chronic pain, compared with just 35 percent of those who got the placebo treatment.

Several controlled clinical trials suggest that acupuncture can play a role in treating addiction as well. Research at Florida’s Metro-Dade County Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Facility concluded that it can help drug addicts and alcoholics kick their addictions.

Studies show that acupuncture can also help relieve nausea, whether it’s the result of a turbulent car ride, chemotherapy or pregnancy.

And other research suggests that acupuncture may help treat arthritis, asthma, bronchitis, cold symptoms, migraines, premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and tennis elbow. It may also speed recovery from stroke, partially reverse nerve damage caused by diabetes, ease bladder problems, lessen depression, lower blood pressure, speed labor and relieve hot flashes during menopause.

“But these areas are less well-studied than pain relief at this point and are not as well nailed-down scientifically,” Dr. Pomeranz says.

Nonetheless, practitioners and some physicians are using acupuncture in many of these less well-studied areas. The treatment seems to help, they note, and it doesn’t cause the side effects that accompany drug therapy and surgery, according to Dr. Stemmler.

“I treat most of the pain conditions that wouldn’t respond to surgery,” says Dr. Stemmler, who also uses acupuncture to treat sinusitis, asthma, chronic bladder inflammation, certain types of urinary incontinence, insomnia and post stroke paralysis.

Another physician, Abegael Lorico, M.D., assistant professor of obstetrics and gynaecology at Allegheny University of the Health Sciences MCP­Hahnemann School of Medicine and a licensed acupuncturist, says that she offers the women she treats the option of prescription drugs or acupuncture treatment for PMS and other gynecological problems, following a complete evaluation.

“For treatment of allergies, acupuncture is beyond belief,” says Haig Ignatius, M.D., a Maryland otolaryngologist who uses the ancient technique in his practice. “In effect, acupuncture gets the body’s immune system to make a better decision, to stop overreacting (or being hypersensitive), and so allergy symptoms will likely improve or clear up.”
